Tiger Panthera Tigris Sumatrae - Tigers typically eat wild pig and large deer (Rusa) or small deer (Muntjak or Barking). The population size depends on the availability of food. With a good mix of woodland and open grassland supporting many deer 100 square km could support 16 tigers. The Russian far east temperate forests and the Malay rainforest could only support 1-3 tigers per 100 square km.
